Cal Poly is excited to host the 47th Annual Conference for The International Circle of Educational Institutes for Graphic Arts, Technology, and Management, but…more importantly, we are equally excited to also host the 93rd Annual Conference for the Graphic Communication Education Association.
Not only is the first time that these two organizations have joined to rally around some of the greatest, diverse, and most relevant scholarly and applied research in the graphic arts, technology, education and management fields, is the first time that they will come together in the United States on the campus of Cal Poly.
Additionally, we are excited to announce that PrintED teachers will be joining us as well to hold their one day conference and then partake in the joint IC/GCEA festivities. Welcome PrintED delegates.
What makes this an extra-special occasion is that this will kick-off the 70th anniversary of the Graphic Communication program at Cal Poly. We couldn’t be more proud or honored to have all of you join us in the momentous occasion and celebration.
An official call for papers, presentations, and workshops has been announced (http://ic2015.calpoly.edu/papers.html). As customary with IC Conferences, paper presentations will made over two days and—customary with IGAEA/GCEA—workshops, demonstrations, and applied seminars will be facilitated in the Graphic Communication Department lab space during the conference. We will also have some fun as well and enjoy the beautiful countryside of the California Central Coast.
Regardless, we are certain that the knowledge shared, the research explained, the new and innovative methods used in instructing the graphic communication student of the future will all be complimented by the brilliant and fascinating intercultural exchange between the purveyors of minds that will make the future of a great industry even greater.
Be sure to check back periodically as we change and update this site. You can also feel free to contact us should you have any questions, suggestions, or comments.
